Your comments on any of these posts are a great help to me in putting together memories for the book Assisting Avedon, very much a work-in-progress. I hope to have it finished and ready for publication by mid-2010, and with your help I may reach that goal.
At the bottom of each post is a link marked “comments.” Just click on this to leave your thoughts, which are sent first to me and then posted.
Thank you,
Earl Steinbicker
What a wonderful surprise! So neatly done, so much information..Much of it guessed over many years studying Richard Avedon's work.
i lived in a place light years away from NYC.. Looking at Laura's book on "The West" figgered how Richard got those poses! I did same in fashion shoots(do the pose 1st). One model asked if i was gay?"No" said the AD.
He is dangerous to anything in skirts.."TY!:)

Hi Earl,
Amazed not to see any other comments here.
I can't wait till your book is finished! I'm a photographer based in NYC (www.matthewlondon.com) and find great inspiration in Avedon's work. I was looking on the net for info about his working technique and came across your site.
Please let me know if you would like someone to read thru a draft!
Also, would appreciate it if you could notify me when the book is available for purchase.
Keep up the good work.
Best,
Matthew London
