This blog is about an app and e-book that are nearing completion. As I finish portions I am posting just a few of them here so readers can sample my progress and correct me when I go astray.
My name is Earl Steinbicker and I have a story to tell about Richard Avedon (1923-2004), one of the Twentieth Century's most creative and best known photographers, as his creativity matured during the 1950s and 1960s. It was my good fortune to have assisted him during this period.
I am almost certainly the only one left from that time who can tell the entire story, just as it happened those many years ago.
Postings of a very few selected sample chapters will be made as they near completion, not in sequential order. They will later be reassembled and reformatted into app and e-book form, along with many other chapters. They contain the stories behind some of his most famous photographs, anecdotes about his life during that period, details of how the studio functioned, technical details, and much more.
More material about Avedon, Travel, Photography, and much more can be seen on my personal blog,
